Baking soda

Baking soda can be used as a gasifying agent in pastry doughs. When mixed with acidic substances (such as lemon or yogurt) it releases carbon dioxide and causes a yeast effect reaction.

To clean fruits and vegetables, leaving them to rest in bicarbonate water for 10 minutes, then they are rinsed and are completely clean.

Added to the water, it makes it easier to cook dried vegetables. To reduce the acid in tomato sauces, make spongy tortillas, and many other uses.
