Vanilla

Vanilla is the only species of orchid grown to be used as a flavoring in food and beverages. It is a flavoring species that provides a very characteristic fragrance to the dishes, stews, pastries and drinks in which it is used. For the preparation of salty dishes, vanilla combines very well with pepper, cayenne, garlic, ginger or nutmeg.
